Lemosho Route (The Scenic Wilderness Route)

Remote • Breathtaking • High Success Rate

The Lemosho Route is one of the most beautiful and least crowded routes to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting on the western side of the mountain, it crosses through lush rainforest, remote wilderness, and diverse landscapes, joining the Machame Route later on.

It offers a longer and more gradual ascent, which helps greatly with altitude acclimatization — giving it one of the highest success rates for reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,341 ft).

This 7 or 8 day route is ideal for hikers who want a more peaceful, scenic, and rewarding experience with plenty of time to adapt to the altitude.
